Shore Street Garden

ICFN partner Shore Street Community Garden in Gourock had a busy morning with volunteers, old and new, working on the compost bin bays. Year old compost was moved out and added to the surface of some the raised beds - there is a ‘no dig’ approach to the garden so it was just lightly raked to level out. 6 month old compost was moved into a new bay and mixed with wood chips and twigs and sawdust. There was lots of food waste from Branchton Community Centre zero waste shop, bread, salad and carrots, and this was added to the top along with coffee grounds from Wildfire Deli in Gourock, sawdust and shredded paper and finally covered in polythene and mats. Good exercise and many hands made light work of it!
Volunteers always welcome - no gardening experience necessary and do as much or as little as you like!
