Horticulture Course at Parklea

ICFN Alice and Julie have been learning about Propogation alongside staff and volunteers at Parklea on a fantastic course run by Mark Haining from West College Scotland. Today was all about dividing plants and there was a lucky break in the rain to have a go outside splitting Crocosmia plants. Mark has taught the group many propgation methods and along the way the group has really got to know each other and had lots of laughs!

ICFN is aiming to promote and encourage ‘cascade learning’ in Inverclyde i.e Alice and Julie will soon be able to share their new propogating knowledge with garden volunteers, who in turn will be able to pass it onto others.

It is hoped that West College Scotland will be running more courses from the Network partner sites such as Branchton, who have already had similar courses running at the Community Centre. Please get in touch if you are interested in attending a horticulture course.
