Food growing in Inverclyde

The Inverclyde Community Food Network is committed to supporting and encouraging food growing across Inverclyde. Our aim is to make food growing a normal part of Inverclyde community life with a view to becoming more sustainable as a region.

You can join in with food growing at one of Inverclyde’s community gardens and allotments. You don’t have to have had any prior experience of gardening or you may have once had a garden and have lots of knowledge to share!

Our community gardens are all very welcoming and offer a great way to make friends and improve your physical and mental health and enjoy a chat over a cuppa. Equally you can go along and put your headphones on and potter away in a corner on your own! You get the added benefit of lots of fresh air and Vitamin D and take home some nutritious home-grown produce!

LATEST NEWS! You can ‘borrow’ free seeds from the seed library housed at South West Library at Barrs Cottage, Greenock! Follow the Drying Green facebook page for workshops on how to save seed!

We aim to share resources and knowledge across the sites with a view to encouraging more community garden spaces, as well as providing produce for our community food share providers.

Workshops and events are held at some of the sites to teach individuals how to set up a growing space at home or to assist with rented raised bed or allotment space. Our events page has details of current gardening activities.
